Day 12: Back, Please Move, Seeing-Eye Dog, Sick.

Whenever I see someone standing on the right side of the elevator escalator and not moving I feel like taking my foldable umbrella and shoving it into the fuckers skull. HOW CAN SHE/HE NOT KNOW THAT THE RIGHT SIDE IS FOR MOVING. YOU WANT TO STAND STILL YOU STAND ON THE FUCKING LEFT TIUNIASENG.

Ditto for fuckers on the travellators. MOVE MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!

rage rage RAGE HULKSMASH

I saw a blind guy in the mrt station today. He had a seeing-eye dog. It was a labrador. So cute! This would be the first time in my entire life that I've actually SEEN a real seeing-eye dog. I've read about them so much when I was younger. Have always been fascinated by them - they are so intelligent and loyal. I WANT A LABRADOR!!!!

I should stop expecting food here to taste like in Msia. It's a whole different country afterall. Maybe if I took away the expectations I wouldn't bitch about the food so much. But you see, if it tastes different, it's still okay because there is still a taste, like what Patrick says. If it's just BLAND? Then cannot accept lah, sorry guys. My typical Malaysian tongue is fucked up already. Need stronger tasting everything!

I'm falling ill. Nose runny like a leaking faucet. Last week been really crazy with work and I think it's taking a toll on me.

8.30 meeting tmrw, time for bed! Nites.

  2. did you mean escalator?

yeah i'm one of the impatient ppl who don't give shit abt others esp when they're blocking my way. dont get me started on ppl rushing into the mrt when we're trying to get out. i'd just make my indignance heard or bang into them cos hey it's my right of way and they're idiots.

sometimes i realize although they don't deserve anything less than my utmost contempt, i have become just like them - no consideration abt other ppl, just about themselves. I have a feeling that the competitive, everyone-for-himself environment that makes Singapore the success that is is, has something to do with this change.

But I still think these morons blocking my way need to be taught a lesson.

  3. The food there is just plain bad, no point trying to get philosophical about it.

  4. I hate those people too, except here it's those who stand on the left. But as I age, I am becoming more accepting of other people's stupidity. It's the easiest way to spot tourists. In most parts of Japan, one should stand on the left and pass on the right. Unless, as my wife tells me, you are in Osaka in which case everything in reversed.

  8. Wah! Don't get me started about SG ppl and the MRT! Last visit, I noticed how ppl get on the train and then they refuse to move into the train. And then when you get to a transfer station, say Dhoby Ghaut, the ppl standing in the doorway refuse to move for either the ppl trying to get OUT or the ppl trying to get ON.

Myself being a rather tall and large ABC, I chanced upon a solution when I was trying to get out of the train with a roller bag after saying "Excuse Me" 10 times had no effect.

Do the words "linebacker" mean anything to you? =)

  11. in many countries.....one is supposed to stand on the RIGHT side of the escalator....the left is for 'moving' people....i think it has something to do with which side of the road the vehicles are on as well.

  13. Yeah, I had to repeatedly psyche myself to think that when I moved to Tokyo. After a month, I found everything to be bland even though I would list Japanese food as one of my fave foods. Different country, different food, so need to have different expectations. Sympathies.

  14. hey FA... you saw the only seeing-eye dog in Singapore. Yes, there's only one at the moment, and they're trying to educate the public so that they can bring more in to help with the blind.
