Proposal to prosecute non-Muslims for khalwat

KUALA LUMPUR: A seminar on Syariah Law review wants non-Muslims found committing khalwat (close proximity) with Muslims to also be held liable.

This was among the proposals made at the two-day seminar organised by the Islamic Institute of Understanding Malaysia (Ikim) and the Syariah Judiciary Department Malaysia.

Syariah Court of Appeal Judge Datuk Mohd Asri Abdullah said the seminar had proposed that non-Muslims committing khalwat with Muslims should also be sentenced accordingly, but in the civil courts.

“We don’t have the jurisdiction to sentence non-Muslims committing khalwat with Muslims,” he told reporters after closing the seminar on behalf of department director-general Datuk Ibrahim Lembut at Ikim here today.

“The Muslims can be sentenced in Syariah courts, and the non-Muslim partners can probably be sentenced in the civil courts, to be fair to both parties.

Who died and gave them the right to prosecute people who are NOT practicing their religion and indirectly forcing their religious values down our throats?

Why the fuck do they feel like they need to jaga tapi kain orang lain and tackle the semut di seberang pulau when gajah di depan mata also they cannot tackle?

What will they think about proposing next?

Ban pig farms?
Prohibit the sale of alcohol?
Close down all clubs and pubs?
Tear down temples and churches?
Burn the entire Genting hill down?

It really boggles the mind how these people consistently manage to pull this kind of stupid fascist shit out from their asses consistently.

  2. My sentiments exactly. It really infuriates me to read crap like this on the Malaysian news. I mean, really, what business is this of theirs to screw with other people's lives?!

  3. On one hand they are telling the tourists they are proud to be a successful tolerant multi-racial country. On the other hand they are doing their best to make it an intolerant one-race country. Fuck you hypocrites.

  4. civil courts can't have jurisdiction over private (as opposed to public) morality. if they want to impose equivalent shariah penalties in civil courts then they first have to deal with objections on natural justice and constitutional (article 11) grounds.

since they want to kacau my private life, my private view is that khalwat should only be admitted to shariah on the same basis as adultery is in civil. this is contrary to shariah criminal law, but i think it is a valid counter-argument. i wonder if they will allow me to comment publicly on shariah law this time (they didn't when i attacked some idiot remark they made a while ago... can't remember what it is now) on grounds that i was not qualified.

  5. u r in m'sia n as in all jurisdictions...the majority rules. always has been the case n always WILL b the case. if u have issues with the way things r going...drop into s'pore instead pls. as u r chinese by race, LKY n family will b more than happy to accommodate u n all disgrunted chinese the world over. seriously. further, i am fully aware of the frustrations a member of the minority undergoes (as i am a minority in my home land) but...tt's just the way the cookie crumbles.

ps - don't sh*g a muslim n u will b fine ya! on the assumption tt u might b liable ...quite soon ...to civil prosecution.

  7. "if u have issues with the way things r going…drop into s’pore instead pls."

this is my country. why do i have to leave it? with respect, your kind of argument deserves the criticism "pendatang". if you're a singaporean muslim, then why do you not cross the causeway?

i expect it's the same reason i don't run to LKY. besides, he's a chauvinist bastard.

  8. Burning down Genting hill may not be a bad idea, you might be onto something there!

It's a terrible temptation for all those muslims who go gambling there...

And then when the whole hill is in ashes and ruins and you find that you miss the old place, they can always rebuild it - bigger and better!

  10. Rilek-lah. Read it again.

This law isn't being passed. It's being SUGGESTED - by some idiots at the Syariah Court. Perhaps even by ONE person at the Syariah Court.

And it has less chance of being passed as Jack Black has of winning a Best Actor Oscar. All of you who got pissed at hearing it? You can be sure that you're among MILLIONS of M'sians who are pissed at hearing it. It'll never happen. It never HAD a chance of happening.

And those Star fellas, who put the story big-big on Page 3? Pretty damn blatant ploy to create controversy - and thereby sell more papers.

If Star hadn't done that, I guarantee you the whole issue would've been justifiably ignored and buried without a peep. Now? Everybody's gonna get a case of the screaming heeby jeebies. Believe me, this is gonna be in the news for at least a WEEK.

Best thing would be to just ignore it - justifiably.

FA: What to do. I'm just a lying unemployed female who likes to spread rumours for WEBHITS WOOT!!!1one

  16. It says "...to sentence non-Muslims committing khalwat with Muslims..." So we have to cut off any communication with our Muslim friends because we might not know are we committing khalwat with them or not.

  25. Ban pig farms?
They don't ban ... they just find any excuse to shut them down . . .and ban the sale of pork in certain areas.

    Prohibit the sale of alcohol?
Ahhh ... you kill a man, you risk turning his religion into a crusade - X-Files . . . they don't ban, they just raise the price so damned high and prohibit the consumption of it in many places.

Close down all clubs and pubs?
Not all . . . those who don't offer coffee in time . . . or when they're feeling over zealous . . . oh right, and when they fail to go after the owners, they patronize the patrons.

    Tear down temples and churches?
Already on the way . . . just not full scale yet. Yes yes, churches and temples are allowed to be built . . . so long as it looks like a factory . . .

Burn the entire Genting hill down?
Hah . . . oh they've been eyeing this one for ages . . .just give them a little time; let's hope the successors to this legacy have enough cunning to keep it in place.
