Women Are Too Lazy To Drive. So the Men Drive.

Overheard this at Mix.fm this morning.

Apparently, the reason why women allow the men to take the wheel is bceause women are too lazy to drive.... or something like that.

I don't think that's true though. I know for a fact that there ARE guys who REFUSES to let the girl drive (even if she WANTS to, eventhough it's HER car) whenever he is in the car.

.... and it's not even like I'm a bad driver also (Shuddup KY).

I asked around for some people's opinion and they are like "Dunno lah. We rather drive. It's a guy thing."

Have a sneaking suspicion that is because THEY think they can drive better.... which is ridiculous because most accidents are caused by men anyway.

What are your 2 cents?

  7. Anyone get blank page after clicking the "Submit Comment" button?

  8. Simon - I always get a blank page after submitting a comment. It doesn't mean the comment didn't submit, it just means FA doesn't give a rats about what you said. :-)

FA - if I was in KL I would have let you drive everywhere ... because Malaysian drivers scare the pants off me, and if I'm going to lose my pants, I want it to be in a girls car and not a guys. [Plus, I don't have an international license].

  12. Maybe I am just too fussy. The programmer blood still in me I see.

  13. I prefer driving (by taking my own car; guy or girl companion doesn't matter) because I usually get car sick, very easily.

However, if its their car I don't insist on driving.

  14. I always think this is being gentleman. And I admit, it's the laziness that I prefer my bf (or others) to drive.

  15. I don't think man are born driver.

If not because of the SNAFU public transport system, nobody likes driving, unless you are nature born bus driver, car aficionado, road kill gamer or own a new beemer.

  17. i'd prefer to be a passenger.....can sleep...hehe

dabido..why do you need international license to drive in msia or anywhere else other than your home country....if this is a requirement...then how do car rental companies get business from tourists?

  18. Ront - International licenses aren't too hard to get. lol But some of us are too lazy to get them.
If you get picked up driving in a foreign country without a license [an international one at least], then you can get thrown out [can make a short trip] and I do believe rental car companies REQUIRE you to prove you have a valid license. They might even have ways to get International Ones very easily. :-)
BUT, when I was in Sydney, the Quarter back on my American Football team got done for speeding and tried to convince the police his California license was an international one. He got sent back to the US and we had to recruit someone else to help us finish the season! [Though,I do believe he might have been picked up for speeding more than once].

  19. i did get stopped by traffic police...at least in north america and 1 or 2 countries in europe...and showed them my not-so-international license......none has ever said its not valid....especially if you're just visiting....I guess its different if you're staying for a longer period.

  21. Ahhh. battle of the sexes again..

If it is the guy's car, naturally he will be driving.
And if it is the gal's car, just let HER drives...
However, if it is a co-own car, hubby is compelled to drive as the wife needs to concentrate on what else..
    Nagging......

  23. I sat in ur car before. Lets not go into that whole bad driver bit shall we? :P

  24. Ront- as someone who's worked for the police, I can tell you they probably let you go as they couldn't be bothered with the paperwork. :-)
Would be different if you were doing something really bad [like driving drunk or speeding about 60 over the speed limit in a residential area].
BUT, they'd have every right to book you and throw you out of the country if they wanted to do the paperwork [which means they would probably have to be in a bad mood]. :-)

  25. At least the comment works, waste no time fix it.

Err.... i think its better to leave the driving to the XY Genes :P

  26. I think it can be fix with upgrading to a newer version of WordPress.

  27. Dabido you're wrong, you don't need an International license in Malaysia as long as your native license is in English.

  28. maybe that only applies for australia.....

  29. Wife is from Japan, so she doesn't like driving on the left side of the car. She can do it, but she's afraid of getting into an accident and she needs practice with manual drive.

She can swap out her licence if she chooses, but she doesn't want to lose her Japanese one. We compromise - I drive in America and she drives in Japan (when she feels like it). I can't read the Japanese signs anyway. Also good for me to drive in America because then I don't have to mind the baby.

  30. ST - You're sort of right. According to the Malaysian High Commission you can use your Native Driving license for 3 months. After that you're supposed to get an International or a Malaysian one to keep driving.
    [But, it's probably not enforced].
So, a tourist might be able to get by as I think they're only allowed to stay for 3 months anyway[if I recall correctly].
