"Hi there, I have been wondering for ages, how to recreate the milo drink to taste exactly like the ones which are distributed from the milo truck. This has been bugging me and all my friends since childhood. I would appreicate it very much if you could share the recipe, which I hope is not an industry secret. Please, please, please. Thanks! :)"
I hope they reply.
Hmmm, maybe it is a trade secret. ;) Actually, the paper pack milo taste exactly the same.
ReplyDeleteMost fantastic idea ever. I will never forget the milo truck visits during primary school, and wishing they wouldn't be so stingy as to only fill the cups half full.
ReplyDeleteIf they deign to reply, pls share!
Yeah tasted real good but so stingy. The cups were so small although they gave each person 2 cups.
ReplyDeleteI bet it's the ICE. the ICE has some sort of chemical that not only makes the drink so much nicer, it also gives you the runs later at night.
ReplyDeleteit's the water, it's the water!
ReplyDeleteAdd condensed milk!!
ReplyDeleteYou. Must. Be. Joking.
ReplyDeleteWhen they reply you HAVE to tell us! *_*
ReplyDeleteI knew The CIO of GCB Food, which worked for Metro swiss (Vico), the ingredient is not as healthy one thought, is all about the right mixture of Coco, malt, sugar and palm oil.
ReplyDeletePM me if you want the contact, In fact she is looking for some one to do a review of newly create coco drink and Chocalte
yeah yeah transfat yadda yadda yadda. Just give me the milo. Nobody wants your "newly create [sic]" coco drink.
ReplyDeleteEyeris,
ReplyDeleteIt cant be the ICE. If it was, my coy would have been rich n profitable just selling them to the Milo/Nescafe vans. Think it's more towards the combination of the ingredients.
As I remember it .... the Milo drink from the little motortricycle was very dilute and watery! But I guess the taste that you want cannot be replicated by making the drink yourself at home. I have a feeling that they use skimmed milk because the drink doesn't taste as creamy.
ReplyDeleteHey, me too! I've always thought that the magic ingredient might be evaporated milk.
ReplyDeletegreat idea... next time we should write to MNG too asking them why the models look good on those baju and not us.
ReplyDeletebut i think i knew the recipe, : brown sugar + marijuana + condensed milk in milo cup with ice - nothing Milo maybe.
i can make milo for u every morning if u want to..
ReplyDeleteneed to see your sexy photos desperately...
post them up fast. :)
Everything tastes better when we were younger... ;)
ReplyDeleteThey add drugs into it to get you hooked on Milo for life coz it tastes so good.
ReplyDeletedon't need to add drugs; Milo IS a drug.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to sound like a really stupid question, but when I live in Penang, all our milk was powdered milk.
ReplyDeleteNow, back then we didn't have supermarkets in Penang! Ja ja, Dabido is old man! So, not sure if that was why Milk was so scarce.
Do you now get fresh cows milk and stuff, like in supermarkets in Aussie?
i think those milo trucks' milo were too sweet ... made kids act like adrenaline-pumped-punks to the teachers' un-liking.
ReplyDeleteI think you need a whole truck to make it taste just right, so, uh, maybe they won't be able to help much. Unless you can afford more than half a million Ringgit for a truck..
ReplyDeleteActually my mom once went up to those milo truck guys and asked them how they did it...according to them, they used milkmaid condensed milk. And to ensure that the milo stays fresh, they had to make a new batch after half a day.
ReplyDeleteShe eventually managed to haggle a whole tupperware of cold milo from them. LOL!
Hey I love milkmaid condensed milk :D
ReplyDeletehehe...
ReplyDeleteit's with the cup~
moo_t answered your question in the very first comment. The Milo drink distributed from the Milo truck is made from vendor quality Milo, therefore impossible to replicate in a home/office environment.
ReplyDeleteYou CAN buy 1 liter packets of Milo concentrate which you need only to add the right amount of water to get that exact taste, but you have to buy the 1 liter packs in cartons directly from Nestlé, unless you know a vendor selling Milo from one of their authirised dispensers.
Err...I know the formula and no, to get the milo truck milo taste, you don't need to follow what the commenter above me said. If you wanna replicate the vendor quality milo, u just gotta pandai pandai divide the portions coz the formula is for the dispenser size.
ReplyDeleteSo in a way, Nirea has the closest answer. The right amount of milo and condensed milk and yes, they make new batches every morning and when habis everyday so its fresh.
Btw, their new product Milo Ice Cool actually managed to replicate the taste of Milo ice that we make at home ourselves. It has the exact same taste.
Thanks for sharing! Wow, I've always thought the secret ingredient was a hint of honey :P Hehe, guess I was wrong.
ReplyDeleteU know wad... it's Valium.... They still give it out free in the Uni in Singapore and everyone's like fucking happy after drinking it. So, my psych frens n me have concluded, it's gotta be Valium....
