This is what I'll do in conjunction with this year's 50th Merdeka celebration.
I shall be all patriotic. I shall be a responsible citizen.
I shall register myself as a voter, finally.
....and then I shall vote for the opposition party.
So what are you going to do this Merdeka?
Happy Merdeka everybody! May we have better years to come.
As a responsible blogger, you should show more camwhore photos. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a plan.
ReplyDeleteBe sure to read socio-political blogs to stay informed!
ReplyDeleteOK giv u..

Tell me what do u think in my bloggy!
FA: I read them lah... but for fun only. Politics is just too hardcore for me.
Come be my contributooorrrr! Hehehe. Btw, that email add of mine is my msn. :D
ReplyDeleteEveryone has to be registered to vote in Australia, else we get fined.
ReplyDeleteHappy Merde.
ReplyDeleteRegister as a voter on a public holiday. Excellent. LOL
ReplyDeleteFA: Sempena hari merdeka lah. I didn't say i'll register ON merdeka day mar.. aiyoh...
Happy Merde? You know, if you spoke French... I'll be voting for the opposition in spirit with FA.
ReplyDeleteDabido: This requirement sounds like a tax grab.
Dax - No, not a tax grab. I don't know anyone who doesn't/hasn't register to vote. So, I'm not sure how many fines get issued. We also get fined if we don't vote or forget to vote. [Which is sometimes a hazard for Aussies who live overseas who don't hear about elections].
ReplyDeleteBut, it's required by law that everyone gets registered to vote, and it's also required by law that everyone vote in their local/state/federal elections. [Or at least turn up, get their names marked off to prove they had the oportunity to vote, and then pretend to write something on the voting paper - apparently Mickey Mouse gets more votes than some politicians].
Dax: Oui. Exactly, mon ami. It's what some (most?) local politicians has been trying to feed the populace. Check out the mentioned blogs above by "Biolovepulse", and also malaysiankini. Also, for a triple dose of racism-fuelled politics, google for the "Pemuda UMNO"'s forums (in Malay, they can't/won't use English).
ReplyDeleteA simple thank you for making the effort. The icing on the cake is who you're voting for.
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday.
Happy Merdeka FA! :-)
ReplyDeleteFireAngel,
